5 Reasons Why Your Website Should be Reviewed

Have you ever had your website reviewed to see what is right or wrong with you web presence. Here are 5 great reasons why you should have a web expert look at your site.

  1. You may be losing visitors because they don’t know what link to click for the information they are looking for.
Is the navigation user friendly and without broken links? Have you ever been to a website where they use some unrecognizable wording in their navigation that no one knows what it means? Or… you finally find the website that may have what you are looking for – you click on the link only for it to take you nowhere?

  2. You may be losing visitors because they don’t have all day to wait for it to load – they just move on to the next site.
Have the images been optimized for fast loading and do all the images show up – or do you get the dreaded box with the red X?  You go to a website and have to wait on the page to load up so you can check out what they have. Down at the bottom status bar you see the words “loading 9 of 35 images, 10 of 35….11 of 35” and you wait and wait…when the page finally loads the main thing you want to look at is the very image that didn’t load at all.

  3. Here is a good one: Do your visitors know who you are and what you do/offer at first glance?
Is your content relevant to your business?  Are the graphics you use, relevant to what your business offers? When it comes to content this maybe the hardest part for a business owner. How to tell people what you do or “selling yourself”. Some will just throw something together to fill in space. The content of your website is so very important for your business. It plays a big role in letting your visitors know who your company is and what you’re all about. It also tells the search engines what you do – so they can place you in the proper searches.

  4. You have a beautiful site, but no one is coming to it.
Do you have unique titles, descriptions and key words for each page of your website? Is it relevant?  These elements play an important role for search engine placement.  “If you build it, they will come”…doesn’t work on the web.

  5. You’re not getting people to explore your website – they go to the first page and leave.
Is your website so busy that your visitor gets lost: Or on the flip side do you not have enough information? Wow! Imagine going to a website and there’s flashing lights, someone is talking, tons of images AND the text runs off the page. Do you even know where to begin? On the flipside, you have so little on your site where your visitor loses interest before they even begin. You must keep an even balance of images versus text (content) on each and every page. Don’t make the mistake of trying to put everything on the home page. You want to invite your visitors in and ask them to look around.
